The incident sets off the ongoing conflict between the Emperors of Varennes and the Seven Heroesone that will shape the Empire for generations to come.

Over the course of this generous slice of the game, you’ll get to explore multiple areas, including beautiful towns and deadly dungeons.

As you traverse these 3D environments, you’ll also experience the incredibly fun timeline-based combat system. It’s everything you could want from a classic turn-based RPGeasy to understand but possessed of incredible strategic possibility.

You’ll quickly learn how you can take advantage of enemy weaknesses to different weapon types and elements to give your party the edge, and how manipulating the turn order can lead to powerful United Attacks that lay waste to the opposition.

You can also experience the SaGa franchise’s unique system for learning new skills, where your heroes acquiring new skills in the heat of battlea process known as ‘glimmering’. It’s more satisfying and accessible than ever before in the game, thanks to new icons that let you know when a character is close to glimmering.

Does progress carry over to the full game?

Bonnes nouvelles – your progress does carry over to the full version of Romancing SaGa 2: La revanche des Sept (so long as you’re playing on the same platform obviously). When you start the game proper, you’ll be given the option to carry on from your demo save data.
