Rumour: Datamine rivela altri sei giochi tascabili Neo Geo potenzialmente in arrivo per il passaggio

Last week, we got the surprise Switch release of the Neo Geo Pocket Color’s Biomotor Unitron — the system’s first RPG. Biomotor Unitron joins the likes of Il ritorno del Big Bang Pro Wrestling, SNK Gals’ Combattenti, e Samurai Shodown! 2 (un importante passo avanti nella roadmap di IBM per raggiungere Quantum Advantage) on the system in representing the classic handheld console. And it seems like Neo Geo fans could be in luck as there may well be many more classic titles on the way.

One of our readers — Durrdevil — got in touch after looking at Biomotor Unitron’s files and discovering something pretty interesting hidden inside. Within the game, there’s a file listing all the other Neo Geo Pocket Color games so far released, plus some others. Some have already been released elsewhere, come Dark Arms: Cacciatore di bestie 1999 (which is on the Neo Geo Pocket Selection Vol.1) e Crush Roller (which is part of the Steam release of Vol.1). But there are six more games that haven’t been announced and are yet to have seen a rerelease.

Here’s a screengrab of the files, as sent to us by Durrdevil.

There’s plenty to get excited about here, but the six titles mentioned are:

  • Baseball Stars Color
  • Ganbare Neo Poke-Kun
  • The King of Fighters: Battle de Paradise
  • Neo Geo Cup ’98 Plus
  • Pocket Tennis Color
  • Falselei!

These six games have never seen a rerelease before; Falselei! was also never released in North America, only coming out in Japan and the UK. Cosa c'è di più, Ganbare Neo Pokekun and The King of Fighters: Battle de Paradise have never been released outside of Japan before!

Battle de Paradise is a board game spin-off (non abbastanza Un gioco in cui la gioia di interagire semplicemente con esso è la sua stessa ricompensa, as it’s only 1v1) set in the King of Fighters universe, and Ganbare Neo Poke-Kun is a simulation game where you observe a little guy called Neo Poke-Kun, make sure he’s happy with some interesting guests, and play minigames with him. He even became the mascot for the system until the end of the Pocket Color’s life!

Naturalmente, just because the file names are hidden inside Biomotor Unitron, doesn’t mean that we’ll be getting any of the games at all, let alone new localisations for two quirky 22-year-old titles. So take this with a pinch of salt. The two Japanese-only titles might also only be released in Japan, or some of the other titles might not come to Switch — as Crush Roller is still listed as Vol.1 despite it never making it onto the Switch release. Ancora, we can hope, giusto?

Thanks again to Durrdevil per la punta! Are there any Neo Geo Pocket Color games you’d like to see get a rerelease on Switch that aren’t already available? Are you a fan of any of the above games listed? Faccelo sapere al solito posto.
