Play Fantasy Battle Royale, Available Now as a PUBG Limited Time Event
Recently, we tossed around several ideas as potential features for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One and how to realistically test them out in-game. Then we thought: Let’s have some fun with it and try something new and totally off the rails! Thus, Fantasy Battle Royale was born, our new event mode set in the very PUBG that you know and love — but with a twist – starting from Wednesday, April 1 at 12:00 a.m. PDT to Tuesday, April 7 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
In Fantasy Battle Royale, you can choose to play as one of four classes: Barbarian (melee), Ranger (sniper), Wizard (AoE damage), and Paladin (healer). In addition to the classes, we’ve added new systems exclusive to Fantasy Battle Royale.
You start the game with a class-specific weapon, necklace, and ring equipped. These items are exclusive to your character and cannot be dropped or traded. With the introduction of crafting, you can pick up materials that will let you upgrade your character-specific weapon and gear using class-specific gems and loot crystals. Lastly, we have added Fantasy Battle Royale missions where you can complete them for gold to purchase exclusive skins from the Fantasy Battle Royale store. These skins will remain in your inventory permanently and can be used in normal PUBG games.
Now, this doesn’t mean that these test features and systems like crafting are going to appear in normal PUBG matches tomorrow, or ever, but it does give us a fun way to get them to you and gather your feedback so we can decide whether or not to develop them further.
So, we hope that you’ll not only have a blast with this event, but also keep the feedback rolling in on the actual features themselves. We’ll also be keeping a close eye on our community channels. This is a very exciting opportunity for us to test some new ideas that we’ve been keen to try in our beloved PUBG.
Fantasy Battle Royale will be available as an event mode in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for a limited time, so drop in today! View full event details on our website at pubg.com. PUBG is available with Xbox Game Pass and available to purchase on the Microsoft Store.
See you in Fantasy Battle Royale!
