Video: DreamWorks Animation Artist Releases Pokémon Halloween Short

Halloween is almost here and to get us in the mood for the spookiest night of the year, DreamWorks Animation artist and Pokémon fan, Christopher Ell, has created his very own “original” five and half minute Pokémon ride film. It features Pikachu, plenty of Ghost-Type, and many appropriately themed locations.

The “not-for-profit” short will be airing this Halloween for local trick-or-treaters located in Southern California. According to Ell, the all-ages shorts was created in Unreal Engine and features full 60fps HFR video displayed across two 10ft projection screens to provide a thrilling experience.

Here’s a bit about the actual ride, along with a full preview of it above:

“In this original Pokemon adventure, trick-or-treaters of all ages will embark on a daring expedition with Pikachu to observe ghost Pokemon on one of the only days you can…Halloween. And thanks to Prof. Sequoia’s newest invention, the Pokemon Observational Vehicle (P.O.V), it should be completely safe and sound. Unless some of the ghost Pokemon have other plans…”

You can learn more about this short over on the artist’s YouTube Channel. Admittedly, we’re not too sure what The Pokémon Company and even DreamWorks might think about this – so check it out while you can, we guess.
