Physical-Only Switch Title ‘Demon Throttle’ Opens A Second Chance Preorder

Last Summer, publisher Devolver Digital announced and then opened pre-orders on its first physical-only Switch game, Demon Throttle. It’ll be the next release from Gato Roboto developer Doinksoft, and it’s certainly intriguing that it’ll genuinely be physical-only, with no eShop release to come.

As you can see in the trailer it offers a retro look and high tempo top-down shooter gameplay, and considering the developer’s pedigree we’re inclined to be optimistic on how it’ll shape up; it’s ‘coming soon’, though we don’t have a set date.

Devolver Digital and Special Reserve Games have now opened a ‘second chance preorder’ for a week, which you can see on this official product page. Only the standard $29.99USD edition is available, though it still has a few nice touches in the package:

  • SWITCH CARTRIDGE
Packaged inside the Switch game case
  • SEQUENTIALLY NUMBERED GAME PACKAGING
  • REVERSIBLE JACKET ARTWORK
  • INSTRUCTION BOOKLET
    Inside the shrink-wrapped game packaging
  • STICKERS

Meanwhile, if you’re going to PAX East in Boston this weekend you can get a free gift if you show a pre-order receipt at the Devolver Digital booth.

Let us know in the comments if you’re tempted to order this, and be sure to share your views on the idea of ‘physical only’ games on Switch.
