Original article [Fri 19th Aug, 2022 10:30 BST]: Splatoon 3‘s first-ever Splatfest takes place next Saturday! And to participate, you’ll need to download the Splatfest World Premiere demo from the eShop. You can’t get into the demo yet, but you can at least now pre-install it so you’re all ready for the big day!
Head on over to the Switch eShop (UK, US) to download the demo now. If you’ve already pre-ordered it, this should download automatically when you boot your Switch up and when it’s connected to the internet. (Thanks for the tip, WoomyNNYes!)
The Splatfest takes place on 27th August, but you’ll be able to dive into the demo from 25th August (we’ll remind you, don’t worry!). You’ll get a chance to check out some of the game’s tutorials, practice the basics, and explore the city of Splatsville. You’ll also get to pick your team.
The first vote this year is between rock, paper, and scissors — and the Splatfest actually takes place on World Rock Paper Scissors Day! Those sneaky squids.
Don’t forget, the full game is out on 9th September, but this demo — and the Splatfest — should give you time to get a feel for the ink once again!
Will you be downloading the demo and taking part in next week’s Splatfest? Let us know!
