SilverStone Intros First SFX12V 4.0 (ATX 3.0 Comparable) PSU with 12VHPWR Connector

SilverStone on Wednesday introduced Extreme 850R Platinum, the world’s first SFX power supply based on the SFX12V 4.0 standard, which has specifications comparable to ATX 3.0, and offers a 16-pin 12VHPWR connector capable of 450 W continuous output with excursion-tolerance within ATX 3.0 and PCIe Gen 5 specs, and improved sleep/wake performance.

The SilverStone Extreme 850R Platinum, as its name suggests, is an 850 W power supply, with Cybenetics Platinum switching efficiency. Under the hood is a single +12 V design with APFC, LLC, most common electrical protections (against over/under voltage, overload, and overheat); and 100% Japanese electrolytic capacitors. A 92 mm fluid dynamic bearing fan is used to cool the PSU, which is tuned to be fanless up to 150 W load, and 35-40% speed between 150-600 W load. Connectors of this fully-modular PSU include a 24-pin ATX, two 4+4 pin EPS, a 16-pin 12VHPWR connector keyed for 450 W, two 6+2 pin PCIe power, eight SATA power, and five legacy connectors. Available now and backed by a 5-year warranty, the SilverStone Extreme 850R Platinum is priced at USD $215.99.
