Classic 2D Fighter ‘Breakers Collection’ Will Support Rollback Netcode & Cross-Play

Fighting fans will be pleased to hear the upcoming Breakers Collection will support both rollback netcode and cross-play compatibility.

This classic collection, which started out in arcades and on the Neo Geo, includes Visco Corporation’s Breakers (1996) and Breakers Revenge (1998) and is apparently “still coming” this year in both digital and physical form. With online features, there’ll be all sorts of new features and content.

Here’s a bit extra information about what to expect from this collection:

Bruno Carvalho and Marcel Bernardi, leads of the Breakers Collection project, shared with the public new info regarding the online play. The game will feature lobbies and player profile customization with unlockable cosmetics, including quotes and avatars. Another feature that got people really excited is the Interactive Replay function, which allows the player to take control of a recording at any point, to study and discover new solutions in match encounters.

A new game mode was also highlighted during the transmission, besides the already known Training mode, a Team Battle mode was also confirmed, which allows players to take a group of characters into a fight. A gallery containing fan arts and marketing materials from the 90’s (when the game was originally released) and new character colors options will also be included in the Collection.

The development team at QUByte Interactive is excited to support both online and offline tournaments post-launch.
