8 Fakten über die PC-Version des Abteilung
With the arrival of the PC specs for The Division, you probably have some more questions about the PC version of the game and what it does to take advantage of the platform. That’s why we sat down with Massive Entertainment Technical Director Anders Holmquist and Stuart White, senior producer from Red Storm Entertainment, to get some facts about The Division on PC.
It’s more than a port
“The main goal during the development of the PC version of The Division was to give players the version of the game they wanted. We didn’t want to just port the console version for them, but to instead craft an experience that felt native to PC from the start. A key feature we particularly wanted to address was the navigation through the UI. If you have a mouse and a keyboard, the way you navigate is very different than the navigation with a controller.”
Invite your Steam friends
“Since the game is social at its core, we worked closely with the Uplay team to ensure that players will be able to play with their friends and also find new ones easily. Uplay now lets you invite your Steam friends into your Uplay Friends list and find people you recently played with. Your Uplay Friends list will also allow you to see when your friends are online and send them an invite or join their session seamlessly.”
Multiplayer is PC versus PC only
“As with most multiplatform online multiplayer games, servers for The Division are platform-specific.”
Play the way you want
“You can expect full support for mouse and keyboard as well as controller. If you have a system with both options set up, we also support that. If you want to switch from mouse and keyboard to controller in the middle of the game, you can do it!"
Not a game for mods
“No. Since The Division is an online, open-world action-RPG, its genre makes modding support technically challenging. Jedoch, we are focused on providing the best experience for all PC players.”
Customize Your UI
“Players have the ability to move, scale and adjust the opacity of a good portion of the HUD to suit their preferences. Beyond HUD, players will have the ability to tweak a wide variety of graphics options.”
There’s a PC beta, zu
“To get your access to the beta, we invite you to join the wait list. Alternatively, you can pre-order The Division for a guaranteed access. The PC beta will take place from January 29 to January 31. The lucky testers will receive further instructions by email shortly before the start of the beta.”
The PC version of The Division supports a lot of hardware
“We wanted to ensure the game ran well, no matter if you were on a laptop or a triple-screened monster computer, and we think we’ve done just that. The key to making a PC game that runs and scales well is to have finely tuned graphics settings, and also to let players dive into the settings and adjust them the way they want. When developing the game, we also worked with different PC hardware manufacturers to bring special features to the game. Beispielsweise, we have a partnership with Tobii to ensure the game works well with their eye-tracking technology for a more immersive experience.”
