Nintendo Switch was the best-selling games console of 2021 in the US, es wurde bestätigt.

The news comes from The NPD Group’s Mat Piscatella, who has shared a thread of US sales stats covering the month of December. Piscatella notes that while the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 war “effectively tied” on dollar sales for the month, Switch was the best-seller in terms of units sold.

Another successful month on the market means that Switch has finished 2021 as the US’ leading console in terms of both unit sales (the number of consoles sold) and dollar sales (the total spent by consumers).

It was confirmed earlier today that Switch was also the UK’s best-selling console of 2021, meaning we now know that Nintendo’s system managed to outsell its console rivals across the US, Vereinigtes Königreich und Japan last year.

Can we expect a similarly strong performance in 2022? Only twelve months until we find out.
