Abschied, World Warriors!

Vor fast einem Jahrzehnt, I told myself that I would work at Capcom one day as part of the fighting game team. Ich würde immer wieder nach Hause nach dem Unterricht eilt – and eventually workto watch any and all tournaments, especially EVO and Capcom Cup. Tatsächlich, I attended Capcom Cup in person two consecutive years prior to starting at Capcom because it meant that much to me. Fast forward to August 2017, there I was, absolutely speechless after I got the official notice that I would join Capcom as a Sr. Spezialist, Social Media and Community. It was a dream come true for me and an experience so surreal that I sometimes couldn’t believe I had accomplished it. Aber heute, Februar 7, is my last day at Capcom and I couldn’t be more honored to have worked here.

Hoffnungsvoll, you guys have either enjoyed the fun I’ve had on the Straßenkämpfer social channels or the random puns I inserted into my Capcom Unity blogs. I always believed in the power of social media, especially in this day and age, and worked to build memorable interactions through them. Whether it was the character takeovers, random memes, character reveal teasers, or the amount of GIFs I posted, it was all fulfilling to me as a fan of the series. I enjoyed reaching out to our dedicated artists and cosplayers, and conversing with anyone whose lives have been changed by Street Fighter. So thank you to the entire fighting game community and beyond!

The people at Capcom who I’ve had the pleasure of working with are some of the most talented, creative, and passionate people I’ve ever met. Being here while all hands were on deck for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Street Fighter 30 th Anniversary Collection, Monster Hunter: Welt, Resident Evil 2, und Devil May Cry 5 gave me some of my most memorable and now cherished gaming moments, especially during the initial announcements, launch, and at all the conventions. Vielen Dank, Capcom!

As for me, an opportunity came my way that I couldn’t pass up. It was a tough decision, but ultimately, I considered my destiny and believed in fate – yes, I quoted Menat. I look forward to going back to experiencing Street Fighter as part of the community again. Maybe I’ll see everyone at Capcom Cup 2019?

Like Ryu says in Alpha 3, “Whatever you find worthwhile in life, is worth fighting for!”

Vielen Dank, jeder!
