Masahiro Sakurai’s YouTube videos are causing quite a stir in the video game community. With short, snappy delivery and easy-to-understand fundamentals, they’re proving a hit with both industry veterans and newcomers alike.

Jetzt, wie erwartet, it appears as though Sakurai’s videos are already being utilised in game development lectures. Not particularly surprising in itself, but we must admit, we weren’t quite expecting them to show up just yet. The first has been shared by artist @JokarioArt über Automat; the individual is sat in a game-making class during which the lecturer proceeds to demonstrate one of Sakurai’s videosthe one on creating realistic trees, if you want to know!

It should be noted that the video was likely used to draw attendees into whatever the chosen subject of the lecture would be, since the student points out that only five minutes was spent on the video out of a two hour and forty-five-minute class. Noch, it’s pretty cool that Sakurai’s videos are actually being used in an academic environment!

Sakurai recently celebrated gaining over 700,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel, and more recently managed to break the 1,000,000 follower barrier on Twitter; he sure is popular, huh?

Are you surprised that Sakurai’s videos are being used in game development lectures already? Have you been watching them yourself? Lass uns wissen!
