Halo Infinite‘s Forge Mode leaked earlier this year ahead of its 8th November beta release date, and for months now, players have been expressing their creativity by creating a plethora of unusual maps in Microsoft’s premier first-person shooter games. One popular map builder, Red Nomster, has created a map that may well lead to the ultimate crossover — a recreation of Kokiri Forest from Zelda: Okarina der Zeit.

Entdeckt von Eurogamer, Red Nomster has been creating unusual maps in Infinite’s leaked Forge Mode for a while — from Toy Story to some incredible underwater stages — and Kokiri Forest is yet another demonstration of his talents. It’s not just an accurate recreation of the location from the N64 classic, it’s also an attempt at translating Zelda’s puzzle mechanics into Halo.

As shown in the video below, Nomster starts in Link’s home — albeit not as Link, of course — and walks us through the entire map that he’s painstakingly creating. The creator has had to come up with some clever methods to create water textures — as shown off in the beautiful pond and river, and in Link’s basin Just outside of Link’s room, there’s a little glowing light that’s meant to represent Navi, and you can talk to the fairy to get a hint.

From crawling through the hole to get to the rolling rock area to finding an Energy Sword in a chest, there are so many small details that Nomster has captured. Not all of the buildings can be entered (he admits that he was getting bored of creating everything — we can imagine it must’ve taken forever!), but barely an inch has been missed. Brücken, buildings, and even tunnels have all been put into their proper place.

Nun, now we want a Zelda X Halo crossover. Think about it for a second — what’s more perfect than the Hero of Time encountering Master Chief in the middle of the forest? Master Chief may not have ever made it to Smash Bros., but this is good enough.

You can check out the whole video above to see just how much work has gone into this amazing map, or subscribe to Red Nomster’s channel for more incredible creations in Forge Mode. Womöglich, once the beta is officially out, we’ll see even more Nintendo-themed maps.
