Assassin’s Creed “Last Descendants” Book Series Coming This Year
Assassin’s Creed is going to 1860s New York City and the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs in a brand new book series – called últimos descendientes – that also finds a group of present-day teens entangled in the ongoing Templar-Assassin battle. Written by Edgar Award-winning author Matthew J, Kirby, the young-adult action-adventure books will also introduce readers to important figures of their respective historical time periods, including William “Boss” Tweed, Hernan Cortes, and opera singer Adelina Patti.
Readers will also meet Owen, a young man who eagerly tries to clear his father’s name by convincing his school’s IT guy to let him use an Animus. Desafortunadamente, Owen learns about more than just his genetic history, discovering the existence of the Trident of Eden – a powerful relic once thought lost. Ahora, thanks to Owen, both the Assassins and the Templars are in a race to discover its location and claim it.
Mientras últimos descendientes is targeted towards readers ages 12 and up, the series is aimed at Assassin’s Creed novices as well as longtime fans. “Collaborating with Scholastic combines our shared passion for storytelling and using history as our playground to bring a new story to life,” said Aymar Azaizia, Head of Content at Ubisoft. “The Last Descendants book series represents a great opportunity to further develop the Assassin’s Creed universe in a way that appeals to both newcomers and existing fans.”
The first book in the últimos descendientes series is scheduled for release in September 2016 with the second book following in January 2017.
