Geoff Keighley promociona su próximo escaparate, Dice que habrá menos espectáculos de terceros este verano

According to journalist and presenter Geoff Keighley, this year there’ll be fewer third-party video game showcases.

In a Twitter Spaces audio session, Geoff explained how these publishers and developers have apparently reconsidered their approach after a somewhat negative response last year to full-blown showcase events with only a handful of announcements:

“There were a lot of shows last year where everyone was disappointed when they weren’t really press conferences, derecho? Like Take-Two, Capcom, Square Enix and things like that.

“I think [ellos] have learned that if you’re going to do a press conference, you kind of need to have 30 minutes-plus of stuff, and sometimes they only have one or two great games to show, which may not be enough to do a full event around.”

Geoff says there’ll be abit of a shiftin response to this, where these companies instead participate in events like the Summer Game Fest and the upcoming Xbox and Bethesda showcase. He added how he has apretty good sense of what’s coming in the next monthand expects people to behyped about games in generalaround this period.

“There is still a lack of games coming out right now, this kind of is the Covid gap year I think… with a lot of games being delayed because they were started during the pandemic. We’re still hoping for a lot of things to come out.

Geoff’s Summer Game Fest begins on 9th June and will showcasewhat’s next in gaming along with some “enorme” anuncios de nuevos juegos. And while he doesn’t expect everyone to necessarily get everything they want, he still expects it to be a lot of fun.
