A whole slew of information was revealed about Resident Evil Village at the Capcom Showcase, including a new, optional third-person camera mode for the game’s main campaign, nuevas etapas, and playable characters for The Mercenaries Additional Orders – including Lady Dimitrescu, as if there was any doubt – and, the content many of you have been waiting for, a new story DLC featuring Rosemary Winters as she searches for a way to rid herself of her horrifying and unwanted powers.

A New Perspective

Do you find yourself still yearning for dark shadows? Both first-time visitors and those making a return trip will be able to experience all the survival horror and action of Resident Evil Village in a whole new way: In third person! In this new, optional mode, you’ll be able to explore the game’s locales with a completely different viewpoint and can now also “see” Ethan in action. The team has put significant care into making sure every detail can be experienced from this new perspective, right down to individual animations. Experience the horror up close, or take a back seat as you search for Ethan’s kidnapped daughter, Rose – the choice is up to you.

Taking place 16 years after the events of Resident Evil Village, the story featuring Rose can be experienced inShadows of Rose. Seeking to rid herself of her unique powers and the consequences they’ve had on her, a grown-up Rose Winters enters the consciousness of the Megamycete – a strange being made entirely of mold – to put an end to her own personal nightmare once and for all. But what will she find in this twisted world where fantasy and reality are blended together?

Presented entirely in third-person, Rose’s special abilities will be necessary to survive, even as she seeks to eradicate them. We’ll leave you with a couple of screenshots for a taste of what to expect from this thrilling chapter of the Winters family saga.

Additional Orders

Finalmente, The Mercenaries is being dispatched once again with new stages, nuevos personajes, and other improvements with The Mercenaries Additional Orders! Three new playable characters will be joining Ethan in this exciting, modo estilo arcade. Boulder enthusiast Chris Redfield returns with firsts at the ready, as well as two of Resident Evil Village’s memorable bosses: The hammer-swinging Heisenberg, and everyone’s favorite castle-dwelling lady in heels, Lady Dimitrescu. Each one of them will bring their own unique skills to the table in The Mercenaries Additional Orders, included alongside Third Person Mode and Shadows of Rose in the Winters’ Expansion DLC.

Más, as part of the Capcom Showcase, producer Tsuyoshi Kanda also confirmed that the game’s main campaign is also in the works for VR on PlayStation VR2, providing an even more terrifying view of the village on PlayStation 5.
