The third iteration of the Japan Fighting Game Publisher Roundtable kicks off on 21st March!

Starting at 3:00 pm JST – that’s 6:00 am UK time, so make sure you’ve got your coffeethe live stream will feature members of Arc System Works, Bandai Namco, Capcom, Arika, SEGA, and SNK, who will discuss all things beat ’em up and eSports.

Hosted by Hameko, a prominent Japanese fighting game commentator, the event will host a number of prominent names from the fighting game scene:

  • Le système d'arc fonctionne – Daisuke Ishiwatari (Équipement coupable series director), Akira Katano (directeur Effort d'équipement coupable)
  • ArikaAkira Nishitani (CEO and president, formerly worked on the Street Fighter série)
  • Bandai Namco – Katsuhiro Harada (Chief producer of Tekken série)
  • Capcom – Shuhei Matsumoto (Street Fighter V producer)
  • SEGA – Seiji Aoki (Chief producer on Virtua Fighter 5: Affrontement ultime)
  • SNK – Yasuyuki Oda (Producer at SNK)

You couldn’t get any bigger names from the FGC here, really. There are never really any major announcements here, so don’t expect any big Street Fighter 6 infodump or a follow-up to Arika’s Fighting EX Layer Another Dash.

Toujours, there’s bound to be something that fighting game fans will be interested in, and the official description mentions a “treasure appraisal projectthat sure sounds intriguing. You can watch the stream over on the Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown YouTube channel, ou sur Twitch courtesy of Arc System Works.

Speaking of the masters of gorgeous anime visuals, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is getting a Switch port later this week. We reviewed the game, and while we lamented the lack of rollback netcode for the Switch release, we did love the art and combat.

Will you be tuning in to the stream? Let us know in the comments below, or better still, tell us what fighting games you want to see on the Switch!
