While Nintendo of America has been leaning into celebrity appearances in recent commercials promoting the Switch, in Japan the focus is a bit less glitzy. Like in previous years adverts for the Japanese market are emphasizing multiplayer fun with family and friends, with quite charming results.

Cerveau. There are parents and grandparents playing with kids, and of course friends bantering and playing online.

There’s a nice relaxed vibe to the trailers, evidently aiming to capture a laidback Holidays / end-of-year atmosphere. It’s notable that the models shown are all standard and Lite units, trop – that could be down to when these commercials were filmed, or potentially a deliberate decision due to the company struggling to maintain stock and meet demand for the OLED in Japan.

We certainly like these adverts, but let us know what you think in the comments.
