QNAP Announces the Innovative ADRA NDR Software for Use in QGD PoE Switches
“Simply by installing QNAP ADRA NDR software, you can turn QGD switches into cybersecurity appliances. Unlike traditional cybersecurity solutions, ADRA NDR can proactively pinpoint and auto-block suspicious lateral movements on your local network using fast-screening and threat traps. All these features and more help to protect private and confidential data on NAS and servers from malicious attacks.” said Frank Liao, Chef de produit QNAP.
Attackers are specifically targeting storage devices which are known to hold valuable personal and business data. As the leading NAS provider, QNAP has accumulated specialized cybersecurity knowledge and created ADRA NDR, which can be installed in QGD-1600P and QGD-1602P PoE switches. This solution provides advanced protection for every NAS, serveur, and client – not just QNAP products. The targeted ransomware lateral movement detection features in the ADRA NDR software (including the Threat Watch selective screening) identifies hostile activities at earlier attack stages without impacting network performance. Once attacks are detected, further analysis is conducted to determine an applicable response policy, such as quarantining compromised clients and ensuring it will not affect others in the local network.
With built-in managed switching and PoE functionality, the QGD-1600P and QGD-1602P can replace existing access switches that are directly connected to end devices, adding security features without changing the original network infrastructure. Hostile traffic to-and-from connected end devices is selectively screened and analyzed to determine its threat level for automated blocking or manual processing. The 10GbE and 2.5GbE ports of the QGD-1602P serve as fast lanes to aggregation switches or NAS, boosting performance for your network topology.
