Nintendo s'est officiellement retiré de l'énorme tournoi de jeu de combat plus tôt cette année, mois après que Sony a acheté l'Evolution Championship Series. La Panda Cup a été officiellement annoncée - un circuit nord-américain officiel sous licence Nintendo qui opposera 32 des meilleurs joueurs de Super Smash Bros. Ultime et Super Smash Bros. Mêlée les uns contre les autres à plusieurs dates.
