With Pokémon Diamant Brillant et Perle Brillante launching next week, it’s understandable that internet traffic relating to the series is riding high – and a new study has leveraged this level of interest to find out which ‘mon people like the most and which ones they positively detest.

Détaillant Ebuyer used data from Linkfluence sur 25 most popular Pokémon (plus a few extras) to reveal which ‘Pocket Monsters’ are generating the most conversations online – as well as those that are experiencing the most ‘negative’ and ‘positive’ commentaires.

Amazingly, Pikachu wasn’t the overall winner when it comes to most popular Pokémon. Sure, the series mascot was the most talked-about ‘mon, generating a whopping 2.3 million conversations online in the past 12 months (Eevee is second with 636k conversations, while Charizard is third with 567k), but it’s actually Charmander who earns the title of ‘most loved’ Pokémon, avec 31.2% of online chatter relating to the ‘mon being positive. In second place is Eevee evolution Film à toute allure, followed by Arcanine in third.

At the other end of the scale, we find poor old Dragonite. 11.9% of conversations relating to this monster over the past 12 months was negative in tone, according to Ebuyer’s findings. In second place is Mewtwo, while the third most-hated Pokémon is Snorlax.
