Konami is currently hosting a Japanese indie game contest (in cooperation with Shueisha Game Creators Camp), asking small team developers to create action and shooting games based on its classic IP.

The winner scores 2 milioni di yen (about $18,000 Dollaro statunitense) and will be given the opportunity to commercialise their gamewith Konami investing up to 30 milioni di yen (in giro $270,000 Dollaro statunitense) in development funds and providing full support for the product. This includes supervision, production advice, localisation support, promotion and equipment.

Konami has listed over 80 different games that creators can reimagine, remake or create sequels for. Some of the titles mentioned include Twinbee, Gradi and series like Goemon.

Earlier this week, a rumour doing the rounds suggested Konami was interested in bringing back older IP such as Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid e Silent Hill. Some of these could be with the assistance of third-party studios. If you could make an action or shooting game based on a classic Konami IP, cosa sarebbe? Share your own ideas in the comments.
