Super Nintendo World festeggia il suo primo anniversario
One year ago, Super Nintendo World in Japan opened its doors to the public after multiple setbacks and delays tied to the pandemic.
To mark the first year anniversary, the park has held a special celebration ceremony event this week. There was a marching band playing the original Super Mario Bros. theme and J.L. Bonnier – the CEO of Universal Studios Japan – made an appearance to thank everyone for their support. Naturalmente, Mario and Luigi were also present.
When the park was originally opened, Mario’s creator Shigeru Miyamoto was also in attendance. You can get a recap in the following post:
As part of the one year celebrations, park visitors can obtain a “edizione limitata” first anniversary sticker from now until 31st March. The Power Up Band and USJ app will also be offering special stamps.
This latest milestone follows on from the news earlier this month that a Super Nintendo World would be opening its doors in Hollywood in 2023. It was also revealed late last year that Japan’s park would be getting a Donkey Kong expansion – set to open in 2024.
