A cosa stai giocando questo fine settimana?? (4 giugno)

It’s June, and this month is PACKED with new game releases and lots of summer gaming events! Non, not-E3, although that’s what we’re calling it —not-E3“. Questa settimana, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet got a November release date! And it will officially be the first open-world mainline game. We also got a look at Frontiere sonore’ own open world and some combat. And footage of a cancelled Kirby GameCube game was discovered earlier in the week.

In altre notizie, Card Shark’s “scrittura spiritoso” e “tense gameplay surprised us. Yours truly asked a big question this week — why isn’t Nintendo doing more with its music? And Kate wrote about the saddest games you can play on Switch, for when you need a good cry.

È il fine settimana È il fine settimana. È il fine settimanaÈ il fine settimana, È il fine settimana. Enjoy!

I’m playing something completely brand new this weekend, but let’s not kid ourselves here. A remake of Cattivo Ospite 4 has been confirmed, so of course I’m going back to play through the Switch version for the *checks notes* 1,115th time. If you haven’t gathered, I’m a little bit excited!

Elsewhere, I’m riding on a Star Wars high after watching the first three episodes of the exceptional Obi-Wan Kenobi serie, so I’ve gone back to play Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ahead of the upcoming release of its sequel. Both games are wonderful depictions of the extended universe and it makes me so sad that it’s not considered canon anymore. Heck, it’s canon as far as I’m concerned — take that, Disney.

I still feel the need, the need for speed. Oltretutto e soprattutto: e soprattutto + on my 3DS, I have fallen prey to the delights of After Burner Climax on a non-Nintendo system which I now play daily. A crime you can no longer buy this, a bigger crime it has never been released on Switch. Package from the East places Crono Croce e Hishou Same! Stesso! Stesso! (a game I first encountered and fell in love with on ZX Spectrum) on the weekend rotation schedule.

Game of the week is the insanely awesome Galacticon! I can’t stop playing this every chance I get and chase those high scores. It is pure arcade bliss!

This weekend is my partner’s birthday so we will be mostly doing outdoor things and eating cake, but in between all the healthy stuffI’m still playing Uccidi la guglia

Anche, Anello dell'Elden! We just got to Caria Manor and it’s full of horrible finger spiders. This game is so weird.

Is anyone else feeling a bit overwhelmed with the number of game releases coming in the next few months? I’m not even planning on picking up any of the Nintendo first-party titles in June, ma ancora, between now and the end of July, ci sono six giochi I want to pick up (and at least another four I’m interested in). And with Festa estiva del gioco avvicinandosi, I don’t feel like things will be slowing down anytime soon.

Anyway, it’s time to knock a quick one out of the backlog this weekend with Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament. I’ve never played this one because it didn’t come out in Europe. It’s more of the same from L'impero dei sogni, but that’s okay! I liked that one a lot. Have a good one, persone!

StreetPass è stata una GRANDE parte della mia vita con il 3DS, StreetPass è stata una GRANDE parte della mia vita con il 3DS

This week I shall be taking on one of the most difficult challenges in all of gaming, something far harder than Bongo Souls or clearing Ghosts ‘n Goblins without save states — I’ll be trying to apply a screen protector to my 3DS without any specks of dust sneaking in beneath it.

It’s an operation made doubly difficult on this console because you’ve got two screens to protect. The last system I did this for was Switch OLED and the tempered glass sheet went on flawlessly mere moments after the console came out of the box. Conversely, this 3DS is a secondhand purchase, and while a very clean specimen, it has already been exposed to the atmosphere and I’m convinced I used up all my luck on the OLED.

We shall see. Wish me luck, let me know any tips you have in the comments below, and have a great weekend everyone.
