Nintendo Talks About Its Future – Reconfirms Next Gaming System Is Coming In “20XX”
There’s always talk about what’s next for major gaming companies like Nintendo, but what is actually next for Nintendo?
Well, in its latest Corporate Management Policy Briefing led by president Shuntaro Furukawa – the company has shared another incredibly vague update about future hardware plans – essentially reiterating what has been mentioned on previous occasions.
The future outlook for the company is to obviously to keep expanding Nintendo IP and as part of this, Nintendo’s “next gaming system” will continue with the “integrated hardware-software” approach. And in case you’re wondering, it’s coming… eventually. Currently, the placeholder is down as “20XX”, so we’ll at least be getting it this century. Yay!
Nintendo says it will also continue to utilise Nintendo accounts – to establish “touchpoints” and “long-term” relationships with consumers.
“Nintendo plans to continue to expand its business around the core concept of creating unique integrated hardware-software products.
“We seek a virtuous cycle with our integrated hardware-software business and the provision of services and content based on Nintendo Accounts, in which touchpoints are created with ever more consumers and strengthened to establish long-term, mutually positive relationships.”
