Out Now: Bear-And-Bloke Platformer ‘Timberman: The Big Adventure’ Chops Its Way To Switch

If you are looking to return to your Nintendo roots with a good old-fashioned platformer then you may need to look no further than Timberman: The Big Adventure, which lands on the Switch eShop today.

This retro-style side-scroller sees you playing as either a heavily-bearded lumberjack named Timber Man or an anthropomorphised bear named, erm, Mr. Bear (no, the originality of those names is not lost on us) as you jump, hop and chop your way through a series of classic-inspired platformer levels.

Timberman is a game that gives a big shout-out to the joys of axe-throwing (and, strangely enough, axe-riding) as you will have to have to rely on your chopper to help solve puzzles, build bridges, and fly through the air as man or bear.

It looks like there is some co-op play to be had here, too, though between a burly, bearded lumberjack and a cute cap-wearing bear, we can’t decide where the classic older-sibling-player-one preference will land.

Check out the following list of features that await you in the game:

– Single-player and 2-player co-op mode.
– Engaging combo fighting system.
– Unique platform game mechanics.
– Shot projectiles using axe or boomerang.
– Mini-puzzles: chop and gather wood to construct bridges.

Timberman is available today on the Switch eShop for the small price of €4.99. That’s bear-ly a cup of coffee (we’re sorry for that one).
