Star Wars: KOTOR II Receives Hotfix Update For Game-Breaking Switch Bug
Earlier in June, not long after the release of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, players discovered a bug in the game preventing them from completing it.
As described by a player on social media at the time, a game crash would occur after the Basilisk Crash cutscene when landing on Onderon. Aspyr at the time said it was “aware” of this issue, and advised players to resort to a warp cheat in order to proceed past this point.
The developer has now issued an update, resolving this issue and more. Here’s the announcement, along with the patch notes:
A hotfix for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords will be released today, June 30, 2022, at 12 PM CST! This hotfix addresses our top player-reported issues, you can view the full list of bug fixes below.
Patch Notes:
– Addressed a crash that would occur after certain cutscenes (i.e. Basilisk scene on Onderon)
– Addressed an issue where the game would crash on certain mid/late game saves. (Dantooine, Korriban)
– Addressed an issue where players could become stuck in a loading screen loop when Sith Troopers board the Ebon Hawk on Peragus
