Super Nintendo World Visitors In Japan Can Now Rent Switch Docks In Their Hotels

Holidays are great and all, but when you have to go back to the hotel at the end of the day, it’s a bit of a bummer to not be able to boot up a nice game of Mario Party Superstars on the bedroom TV — unless you’ve brought your Nintendo Switch dock with you, but why would you waste precious luggage space on a dock when you can fill it with Mario plushies from Super Nintendo World instead?

Nintendo clearly knows the issue here is the hotel not having any docks, and so they’ve partnered with a handful of hotels near to Universal Studios Japan (where Super Nintendo World is) to offer a dock rental service. Visitors can rent the dock, a high-speed HDMI cable, and the Nintendo Switch AC adapter at the following hotels, starting April 23rd:

  • Oriental Hotel Universal City
  • The Park Front Hotel at Universal Studios Japan
  • Hotel Keihan Universal Tower
  • Hotel Universal Port

Three more hotels are still preparing for the dock rental service, and will offer it at a later time:

  • Hotel Kintetsu Universal City
  • Hotel Universal Port Vita
  • Liber Hotel at Universal Studios Japan

Is this a good idea, or do you already take your dock with you on every vacation? Do you wish hotels would offer this in your country? Let us know in the comments!
