Switch Remake Of Super Famicom RPG Live A Live Gets A New Character Trailer

Square Enix has had a busy week on the RPG front with all sorts of announcements. One of the many highlights was the announcement that the 1994 Super Famicom title Live A Live would be making a return.

The game is being localised in English for the first time ever and will be released on 22nd July 2022. It will utilise the ‘HD-2D’ visuals seen in Octopath Traveler and the upcoming Switch release, Triangle Strategy.

If you weren’t already excited for this one, Nintendo has now uploaded a character trailer highlighting the many different stories you’ll be able to experience. Here’s the rundown:

“The RPG game LIVE A LIVE makes its worldwide debut in HD-2D on Nintendo Switch on July 22, 2022! Seven different stories featuring different protagonists, time periods, and gameplay styles await. In The Wild West, a wanderer with a bounty on his head fights for his life. In the Twilight of Edo Japan, a shinobi undertakes a secret mission. Experience these tales in any order you choose—the adventure is yours to control. What other stories will you uncover on the horizon…?”

And here’s the Nintendo Direct announcement trailer from earlier this week. You can also find out more in our original post.
