Wonder Boy Returns Remix

Strictly Limited Games are back with another Wonder Boy physical release! This time, it’s the turn of Wonder Boy Returns Remix, the 2019 arcade platformer that goes back to the roots of the series.

Pre-orders go live soon — on 20th March — but Wonder Boy fans can take a look at what to expect on the store page.

There are two different versions you can get your hands on, plus a lovely little aluminium art card to put on display! The plate is 14cm x 17cm (5.5 x 6.7 inches), and it weighs a rather dainty 230g kg.

But those physical editions look pretty darn nice, too, if we don’t say so ourselves. Here’s a look at the Collector’s Edition, which comes with a wealth of goodies:

Costing €54.99, and limited to 2000 copies, you get a lot of bang for your buck here, including:

The Standard Edition is only €29.99 and comes with the manual too! There are 3000 copies of this one, so regardless of which version you get, you’ll need to be quick.

“If you pick up Wonder Boy Returns Remix for five minutes, you might think we’re mad; to the uninitiated, its mechanics are obtuse and infuriating – and accompanied by mercilessly repeated, taunting muzak. However, if you can manage some patience, you will find a well-designed action game that makes absolute sense of its world and its control scheme.”
